Cassie was diagnosed with dyslexia as a child and as a result, she experienced bullying throughout her time in school for having difficulty reading.
Effects of the traumatic experience:
Being made fun of for her dyslexia made Cassie self-conscious and not want to talk to others so much as she was growing up.
Overcoming the traumatic experience:
Cassie was helped by finding people who accepted her for who she was. Getting into racing helped Cassie become more confident and less shy.
What Cassie does today:
Cassie is a NASCAR driver and veterinary technician.
Given what you know now, if you could go back to when you were going through the tough times and give yourself one piece of advice, what would it be?
Cassie's Answer: She wouldn't change anything.
