In this episode, I’m joined by Beth Durbin, lead singer of the band Glassworld. Beth joins me to share her story of how she’s been able to heal from the effects of sexual abuse by helping others and finding her voice through music.

The Details
Traumatic experience:
Beth was sexually abused by her mom's romantic partners off and on from about the ages of 6-17.
Effects of the traumatic experience:
Beth has suffered from sensory dysfunction, a condition that caused her to not be affectionate, not like being touched, but like dominating relationships.
Overcoming the traumatic experience:
Counseling, music, helping others, and her daughter have helped Beth get to where she is today.
What Beth does today:
Beth is the lead singer for Glassworld based out of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Final Question:
Given what you know now, if you could go back to when you were going through the tough times and give yourself one piece of advice, what would it be?
Beth's Answer: Get your story out there and don't be silent.
