The Details
Traumatic experience:
Isabelle was born into the world without a cultural or legal identity because her parents were political refugees. She was born in Germany but her family couldn't stay there so they ended up moving to the U.S. when Isabelle was very young.
Effects of the traumatic experience:
Isabelle struggled to fit in and always felt different, especially in school. She even ended up having a nervous breakdown when she was a freshman in high school and suffered from anxiety and depression as a result of the pressure to fit in.
Overcoming the traumatic experience:
Isabelle started finding and attracting friends who were also different and unique and who liked her for who she was. She also created a community for people she connected with online to meet in person. The most important thing Isabelle did was consciously create a life for herself, which allowed her to find her identity.
What Isabelle does today:
Isabelle is a singularity storyteller who teaches entrepreneurs the art of storytelling and connecting. Isabelle is also an artist.
Final Question:
Given what you know now, if you could go back to when you were going through the tough times and give yourself one piece of advice, what would it be?
Isabelle's Answer: Don't care what other people think and have faith that things will be okay.

I can relate because I was once that person that try to fit in groups in middle. School up to my high school year I felt like nobody liked me because I was different. I was so insecure at that time And came from a different from. A different country and moved to the us young and I barely. Had friends because nobody. Tried to see the real me they just saw outside of me but I am not worried about having friends because my family and god is bestfriends

I could definitely relate to what she said about “weirdos”… visionaries. It’s hard to live in your head, trying to find a way to let all the possibilities out!
Still looking for those sorts of people.
