In this episode, I’m joined by Ginger Lewis of ToPrevail.org. Ginger joins me to share her story of how she’s been able to break her silence to help others and fight to pass a bill in her home state that would change the time people would have to come forward and seek justice for their abuse.

The Details
Traumatic experience:
Ginger was sexually abused by her father from the ages of 11-16 years old.
Effects of the traumatic experience:
The abuse led Ginger to battle with anorexia and depression, along with trust and intimacy issues which led to her isolating herself.
Overcoming the traumatic experience:
Going public with her story and trying to get a bill passed that would eliminate the statute of limitations in her home state when it comes to sexual abuse has helped Ginger get to where she is today.
What Ginger does today:
Ginger is a teacher and an advocate for sexual abuse survivors.
Final Question:
Given what you know now, if you could go back to when you were going through the tough times and give yourself one piece of advice, what would it be?
